World No. 1 Caroline Wozniacki secured a berth in Saturday's semifinals at the $2.05 million Internazionali d'Italia tennis event. Wozniacki needed all three sets to stave off fifth-seeded former No. 1 Jelena Jankovic 6-3, 1-6, 6-3 on the red clay at Foro Italico. Wozniacki prevailed in 2 hours, 23 minutes in a match that featured 13 service breaks, including seven by the winner from Denmark.
The Serbian Jankovic was the back-to-back Rome champion in 2007 and 2008 and last year's runner-up here to Spaniard Maria Jose Martinez Sanchez.
Australian Open runner-up Li Na, seeded fourth this week, landed in the semifinals by leveling Hungarian Greta Arn 6-3, 6-1 on Friday.
The 2011 Rome titlist will collect $360,000.
