How did you meet Patricia? -We met one day at the Valencia tennis club. I went to eat and she did too and we met there.
Did you coincide with a group of friends? -No, we were eating separately. Her with her family and I with friends. I went over to her. I liked her and I went to meet her and say hello.
Your friends call you 'Mosquito', 'El Chavalito' [the little kid], 'Ferrero Rocher' , 'Ferri'... JC - Almost everyone calls me Ferri. I don't like Mosquito, because that was when I was a little younger: it was a name for when I was a boy. My favorite is Ferri. Ferri is what the other tennis players call me. Juanqui, everyone at the academy. At home, Juan; my father and my sisters call me Juan Carlos.
You say it was in a tennis club. Does she play tennis too? JC - No, she's studying Publicity.
You've said this with a sly smile. JC - The other day I saw her play for the first time and I had a good laugh. It was in Brazil during the preparation for the Open.
You've said living in Valencia or Alicante, married and with a family? JC - I hope so.
Married to Patricia? JC - At the moment, I think yes.
We saw her at Roland Garros and these past days at the Open. Do you like having her go with you to these competitions? JC - It keeps me calm, and since I don't get to see her a lot, I like to be with her. But at the tournaments, especially, it keeps me calm and helps me to be well.
