Arsène Wenger has paid tribute to Thierry Henry after the Arsenal striker finished second in the FIFA World Player of the Year poll.
Henry was pipped by his fellow Frenchman Zinedine Zidane but received more votes than Brazil striker Ronaldo.
Wenger said: "The biggest achievement was to be nominated in the top three and I think Thierry deserved to be up there alongside Zidane and Ronaldo.
"Although Thierry hasn't won the award, being voted the second best player in the world is fantastic recognition from the world's football coaches
"The achievement was to be in the top three. After that it is subjective between Thierry, Zidane or Ronaldo. For me, there is nothing between them.
"Congratulations to Zinedine Zidane for winning the award, he is a fantastic player who has regularly produced superb performances at the very highest level."
He's really the only one who can be compared with ..... most stars in the past.
Don't talk about Ronaldo,Henry,Becks,Figo or else If compared with players 10-30 years ago they are so normal.....but I like them na don't get me wrong.

Well... the debate on who is the world player of the year is far too subjective especially when the decision is made by the vote or poll. FIFA world player of the year could of been the player who's had the most outstanding performance throughout the year in both club and international levels and I think Nedved deserves it more than any player. Of course I agree ZZ has done just enough to be nominated but I feel Neved just has the edge because he single-handedly carried Juventus through to the final but unfortunately missed the most important game that could make him the world player of the year 2002-2003 without any close contender.
ZZ could be one of the all-time greats no doubt about that but, when talking about this year and the last year, nedved's a lot more to claim the award.
Just another opinion and nothing more than that man.... Happy new mear everyone:) xxx.com (µÍ¹ÍÂÒ¡à¢Õ¹ÀÒÉÒ»ÃСÄɡѺà¢ÒÁÑè§)
