The day we (my wife, my daughter and I) attended was Monday August 2nd, the third day of the camp. The attendance was around 1,500 in the morning session (there are 2 sessions; morning which begins at 9 am and the afternoon begins at 4.30 pm.
I tried my best to avoid the crowd during the weekend, which reached 7,000 each day.

Redskins training camp will be open to the public only for the first 2 weeks. After that, it will be closed due to Gibbs doesn't like the media and fans to be around and, kind of, distract his players.
The guy right across us at the other side of the practice field is Dan Snyder (white shirt with burgundy tie) with Vinny Cerrato, the team's vice president of football operations, sitting next to him.
On the field, the further player, with Redskins helmet on, is Laveranues Coles, the other with his helmet covered is an undrafted rookie free agent, sorry for having no information about him.

In white jerseys are offense. Defense will wear dark jerseys all along the camp. There will be some same #s on different jersey color due to a very crowded roster (~85).
For some people who don't know the rules, teams will have to trim their roster to 65 by Aug 31 and 53 final roster (plus 5 on practice squad) by Sept 5, right before season opening.
Both units will practice separately early in the day. Then, do 9-on-9 drills and finish morning session with 11-on-11 drills.
I'll point only some worth-mentioning players and coaching staff. Start from the sideline...
#75: DT Brandon Noble: an ex-Cowboy who got season-ending knee injury last year. This is his second year as a Redskin. He's a reliable run stuffer, although not outstanding.
#97: DE/DT Renaldo Wynn: an ex-Jaguar acquired 3 years ago via FA. Wynn can play either DE or DT but usually lines up as a left End.
#59: LB Mike Barrow: new acquisition from NYG this off season. He'll replace Trotter as Middle LB. A solid veteran who still has some left in his tank.
On the field...
#58: LB Antonio Pierce: A solid back up who contributes greatly in special team. He is another UDFA (undrafted rookie free agent) who makes the team and was rewarded with a new contract this off season.
#55 LB Kevin Mitchell: He started in place of Trotter as MLB two years ago when Trotter got a knee injury. He's been a very solid backup who's capable to step in at any time.
The coaching staff...
The one in the grey shirt in the middle of the field is Gregg Williams, an Assistant Head Coach/Defensive Coordinator who was the Buffalo Bills head coach last year. He's one big reason the team drafted Sean Taylor and snagged LB Marcus Washington from the Colts. His schemes heavily utilize LBs and secondary.
At the far left side of the picture is Assistant Head Coach/Offensive Coordinator Joe "The Boss Hog" Bugel, who built "The Hogs", one of the most dominant and well-known offensive lines in the NFL ever.
#3 WR (w/o helmet): James Thrash: traded from PHI (for a 5th round pick) this off season. Thrash used to play for the Redskins 3 years ago before signing with PHI via FA. He's still wearing jersey #3 in camp because his former jersey (#87) belongs to Rod Gardner right now. Also, his # during Eagles' years (80) belongs to Coles. So, he's probably deciding...:)
The one who Thrash is talking to is #76 OT Jon Jansen (tucked-up jersey). He's the longest Redskin on the current roster since Champ is traded to DEN. They both were drafted in the same year ('99), Champ in the first, Jansen in the second.
Unfortunately during the HOF game, he was torn his Achilles and needs a season-ending surgery. This is the saddest news for all the Redskin fans. Before the injury, he had never missed a game, or even a snap, for the team. In other words, he had played for 82 consecutive games including playoffs. That's really amazing for an offensive lineman.
#4 (w/o helmet) is Tim Hasselbeck. His former jersey# was 8. But after the arrival of Mark Brunell, he has to switch to #4. T-Hass played the last 5 games under Spurrier after Patrick Ramsey got hurt.
Once he's said to the media "I've never thrown this so many deep balls EVER in my football carreer."
Now that's funny. :D
#18: WR Gari Scott: who caught a TD pass fromn T-Hass in the HOF game. Even though with that TD, I'm doubting that he'll make the team because Redskins' WR corps is really crowded; Coles, Gardner, Darnerien McCants #85, Thrash and Taylor Jacobs, who switches from #86 to #84, are locked. Then, there may be one more spot left, if Gibbs will carry 6 WRs on the roster, which I think very unlikely.

#45: FB Mike Sellers: another unsung position in the NFL. He almost got cut by Spurrier last year but he's a type of player Gibbs likes, a reliable blocker.
#20: RB/KR/PR Chad Morton: Morton is half American half Japanese. His major role is PR/KR due to his blazing speed. He sometimes plays as a third down back and often catches the bll from the backfield. His playing time is limited becuase of his size and durability.
#26: RB Clinton Portis: anything to say about him?
#22: RB Sultan McCullough: he also saw some action in the HOF game. He was invited to the camp last year under Spurrier because of his ball-catching ability. Should be on the practice squad for another year at best..
#86: TE Walter Rasby: he was a Redskin once under Schottenheimer. Another Gibbs-type player, good and solid blocker who can also catch the ball.

Mark Brunell takes snap charge in this 9-on-9 drill. They practice a running play "Counter-Tray" which John Madden talked about during the HOF game when Gibbs called it.
The play will move the whole OL to one side (left, in this case) but LT and LG will be pulled to the other side (right) with a help from a TE (who lines up at the right side in this picture, #48 Leonard Stephens). Then, RB will follow the block and try to find a hole and cut back.

This is the most favorite Redskins player. When the Eagles have McNabb, Cowboys have Roy Williams, so the Redskins' nominee is...
...#56 LB LaVar Arrington. LaVar will be moved to his natural position this season, weakside LB due to the arrival of Marcus Washington. So, he should see plenty of actions this year.
Watch out Vinnie!! :)
The guy can play piano too, bebieve it or not!!

This is the first string team with Brunell, again, in charge and Portis in the backfield.
Defense tried to rush QB from the LBs but not quite successful. Skins' defensive line is still mediocre even though they try to bulk up by acquiring Philip Daniels and Cornelius Griffin.
In the HOF game, Quentin Griffin had average 9 yards a pop!!! Yep, Quentin Griffin (who?)!!!!
Please note that Fred Smoot is lining up against Laveranues Coles. Without Champ, Smoot needs to step up and prove that he's capable to be #1 CB. Some people might think that Shawn Springs comes to D.C. to take over Champ's spot, I don't think so, really.
Springs might match up well against TO and Keyshawn because of his size but in overall, Smoot will be the guy.

And this is the guy I'd been waiting to see in real action...
...#36 S Sean Taylor.
He's so HUGE!! (6-2, 231. Compare him to #32 CB Ralph Brown, 5-10, 185, typical CB size).
Roy Williams?? Michael Lewis?? Taylor will compete with them toe to toe. He's a playmaker and proved it in the HOF game. I believe Shockey will see a lot of Taylor's shadow in the game. :)
Hopefully, he'll be a Redskin for a long, long time (I'll grab his jersey as soon as they come out).

So, Gibbs moved the team to artificial turf, at the other side of the field. Just look at the water around and imagine how hard the rain pouring. That was the reason more than 1,000 fans left. They thought the practice would have been cancelled but it was not.

This is defensive line's practice. The coach pretends to be opponent's center snapping the ball. He tries to fake count and lure the players to step offside, just like the real game.
There are some second and third stringers got flagged. Most of the first teamers did well.
#96: DT Cornelius Griffin (tucked-up jersey, left DT standing): newly acquired from NYG to team up with Noble. I hope he does well.

#30 "ฤดูกาลนี้ Redskin มีใครมาใหม่มั่งครับ" e.g. Mark Brunell (QB from Jax) Clinton Portis (RB from Broncos)
but I think only the return of Gibb make Redskins fan much happier than any others. I hope he bring the good old days to Redskins fans (also to other football fans).
No krub mr.packamn, I did not. I just wanted to take his picture. He was surprisingly very friendly to the fans and media.
However, my wife was able to get one from Antonio Pierce on my daughter's jersey. So, its like LaVar jersey with Pierce signature. Kind of weird...
Welcome krub K.Armani Man. Do not highly expect a significant change from the team this year. I think it'd take Gibbs about 4-5 games to realize the speed of new era football. My prediction is about 9-7 at best or even 8-8 after seeing the HOF game. D line has a lot of holes and is really struggling to gel together. Brunell looked rusty and Ramsey was off timing, overthrew his recievers. Then, losing Jansen is huge!
One bright spot was Sean Taylor. He looked very promising and should improve quickly.

Nice pics, K. Duke. Cute little reporter too! Future ESPN anchor :)
Your daughter must be born in September, right?. Did you miss any game last season, then? My daughter was born while the Eagles were playing the Giants in Philly (although her due date was a Monday). When I was finally able to turn the TV in the labor room on, the Eagles were already beating up the Giants by many TDs. So I told my newborn daughter the score, and said "You were born to be an Eagles fan, good girl" :)
I think it must be Brunell krub. Gibbs always likes veterans QBs and is able to squeeze the most out of them. Although Ramsey's got stronger arm and a lot of upsides, Brunell's got an edge in better reading defense and experience. It shows during the pre-season games in the first 2 games. Brunell's adjusted better to the games than Ramsey, especially in the 2nd game against CAR.
Ramsey is a team future and has rooms to learn from Brunell. Things I like about him is his toughness and intangibles. He was one of those QBs who got sacked most last season but never complained a word until his foot got banged up.
Brunell is most likely to start at the season opener against the Bucs. Ramsey might have a shot if Brenell gets hurt or play very poorly, otherwise, the team wouldn't pay the guy $8M a year just for holding a clipboard.
