Do you mind English?
If you don't, I would like to share you my experiences in America with you.
When you enroll into any graduate course, there is NO guarantee that you will be graduated..... This is a fact.
For PhD study in the US, it looks like working more than conventional studying you've experienced here in Thailand..... So, in this American sense, it's a work... Thus, students have a full liberty to quit at any time they want....
Please remember that studying or academic achievment is only a part of life, it does not equal life.... And, the word "life" (in American's sense) is full of freedom (and, at the same time, difficulties).
Many graduate students study while they have a family. That's a big responsibility and requires serious commitment, even more than graduate study so to speak.
When we compare the ideas of life and education between our and American society, it clearly demonstrates major difference in objectives.....
Different results?
I guess so.
