Black hole is not a star. It is not just a collapsed star with very high density either.
It has a specific definition. (Most) Black holes are formed by exploding (Supernova) high-mass stars. The density of a black hole at the center is not just very high, it is infinite. The collapse never stop and finally the density is so high that it rips space-time apart.
It's true we cannot directly see black holes, but there has been many indirect observations that support the existence of many black holes including one at the center of our galaxy.
White holes are not just something made up in science fictions either. White holes come out from mathematical solutions of Einstein's theory of general relativity. Weather white holes actually exists physically is still an open question.
