ทีนี้ ในเมื่อ sense การมอง เป็น sense ที่แทบจะกล่าวได้ว่า เป็น sense หลักของร่างกาย ... sense อื่นๆ อย่างการรับรู้ ปวดเจ็บ ร้อนเย็น ที่ผิวหนัง การได้ยิน ฯลฯ ก็เป็นไปตาม sense หลัก
คือรับรู้สิ่งแวดล้อมที่จะมาจากด้านตรงข้ามเช่นกัน
(เพราะคงไม่เข้าท่า ถ้าจะให้ร่างกาย
มอง สิ่งที่อยู่ด้านซ้าย รับรู้ด้วย สมองด้านขวา
แต่
รู้สึกสิ่งสัมผัสผิวหนัง ด้านซ้าย รับรู้ด้วย สมองด้านซ้าย
สู้ให้ รู้สัมผัสผิวหนัง ด้านซ้าย ด้วย สมองด้านขวา เหมือนการมอง ไปเลยดีกว่า)

ที่นี้ประเด็นสำคัญก็คือ ในเมื่อ ระบบ sensory ก็เป็นการรับรู้ฝั่งตรงข้ามแล้ว
ระบบ motor ซึ่งก็คือการควบคุมร่างกาย ก็เลยเป็นแบบเดียวกัน คือ การควบคุมด้วยสมองซีกตรงข้าม ไปด้วยเลย

Why do nerve pathways to and from the brain cross over?
The fundamental reason that nerve pathways cross over is that vertebrates ( and cephalopod mollusks such as squids) have a lens in their eyes that inverts the image. For example, the light from the left half of the visual field strikes the right half of the retina, and vice versa. Vision is such an important sense that the anatomy of the central nervous system is arranged so that every response to a visual stimulus is properly oriented to the correct side of the body. Further, it is coordinated with other sensory systems that can differentiate left from right such as the somatosensory system. And the motor outputs also have crossings, known as the decussation of the pyramidal tract so that the left motor cortex controls the right side of the body and vice versa.
