Profile: Ismael Aviso

Ismael Aviso, who is 54 years old, has been working in the microwave and satellite industry for 12 years.
He has lived happily for 34 years in an impoverished neighborhood in the Philippines, and hopes that this technology might do something "to uplift the living condition of my neighborhood." [1]
The ideas apparently first began percolating when he was working for AT&T dealing with satellite communications in the microwave range of frequencies. Then he started studying AC and DC motors. He said he invented a motor protection circuit so that if you dropped a motor in water it wouldn't ruin the motor, but would immediately detect and shut off.
Then he got involved in some R&D forums. In around 2004, he got hooked up with forum member "konehead", who he credits with helping significantly.
His official schooling didn't go beyond the first year of high school, where he had to drop out because of difficult economic conditions. Obviously, he hasn't stop learning, though not in a traditional institutional setting.
He ascribes his inventive genius to his faith in God. He said he used to drink and gamble, but that he gave all that up to lead a life dedicated to the service of his fellow men of God.
"My life cycle[s] in three different places: house, lab, & church. We always keep our church clean, I mean very clean, well painted. Not allowed to smoke inside the compound. We always invite people to listen to our Bible study every night. In this church you can learn all kinds of religion. Once you learn all, it's up to you to decide which religion you want, as well as how to live right and overcome all the hardships of life. This church will kick you out once they learned you do things against the rules
like liquor drinking, womanizing, gambling, etc
35 out of 37 individuals who support me on my R & D of alt energy are members of this church." [2]
