[a feature] A Look at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry

เป็น feature เกี่ยวกับสถานที่นะครับ ช่วยวิจารณ์ด้วย ขอบคุณ (รู้ตัวว่าเขียนเยิ่นเย้ออ่ะนะ มันมือไปหน่อย)

Located in a secret section of Scotland, the sole magic school in the Great Britain whose shortened name is simply Hogwarts is still operating diligently. Not only does it have the scenery worthwhile for striving to see at least once before one dies, but it also has long historical value. On the former aspect, every particular place in Hogwarts, ranging from the lake to the infamous Forbidden Forest and many more, is in itself an independent landmark—it would still be widely known even if the castle is not there. On the latter, there is not a single soul that doubts the originality of the tool inheriting Hogwarts’ 4 founders’ train of thoughts—the Sorting Hat. In fact, even a recent event has become a part of its wonderful history, as we shall see later.

The essential part of Hogwarts ground is, of course, the castle where all the learning, testing, whining, scolding and every imaginable funny—if not crazy—activities take place. With 142 movable staircases and many tricky doors and corridors, its caretaker once made a direct complain in his annually report to the governing organization that he think the Ministry in charge of the Minister concerned should make a request to Hogwarts to hire a dozen more janitors. Not far from the front gate of the castle are the lake and its live giant squid. Also near the two is the Whomping Willow, the tree that only its look is calm. Maybe it is the only survival of the deserted part of the Forbidden Forest, also not far apart. A journalist looking for a plot for an article or a novel can’t be helped but have their wish fulfilled upon sleeping in the forest for a night, but that is only if he does not succumb to death out of madness. The last thing to be discussed here will be the quidditch pitch on the other side of the ground. With the fund raised after the latest Headmistress took the office, it is now the seventh largest quidditch pitch of the world.

Let us now look at the historical side of the most popular “secondary” school of the world. Nowadays, more than a thousand individuals gather at the quarterly-ruined castle on every anniversary ceremony commemorating the Battle of Hogwarts in 1998 which greatly added the antique feeling and a lot of work for the caretaker to the castle. However, its origin dates back to around the middle of the Middle Age. Then, there were 4 people, namely, Godric Gryffindor, Helga Hufflepuff, Rowena Ravenclaw, and Salazar Slytherin. They established what was to be the sovereignty of the Age. Sadly, their ideas harmonized only for a brief period of time, and they broke up after a severely violent fight. After that, many Headmasters and Headmistress took their turn in looking after it, the most famous being Albus Percival Wulfric Brian Dumbledore who presides almost all of the school’s meetings for over 25 years. Sometimes the school falls into the wrong hands (like the 1995 Umbridge Scandal); luckily, the right ones have always managed to get the power back. Thanks to the fact, Hogwarts has never been tainted to the point of annihilation, although it has been closed once in the Chamber of Secrets incident. The bedtime moral here is that righteousness is often—if not always—victorious.

Both from the standpoint of its location grandness and ancient greatness, Hogwarts is indeed a worthy place to spend a week or two. The mystery of the castle is much yet to be discovered. Recently, there is a spreading funny story which started its journey in the Quibbler, an international journal, stating a gigantic creature named Grawp has mystically become engaged. Moreover, a historical research conducted by Hermione Weasley has revealed a lot new evidences regarding the order of events. For example, the invention of Sorting Hat is, according to the study, before the misunderstandings among the Hogwarts founders. It can be vividly seen that the development of Hogwartsology is only in its beginning stage. Hence, it is almost impossible for any historians or even ruin-lovers not to pay a visit to the unofficial world heritage.
