“If that makes me special, I wouldn’t be the one who had the same birthday as the damnation of Echidna! That Medusa wouldn’t stone Alex! And you and me, and Joshua, Nestor or whoever the unknown hero is, would all be safe and sound!”
“Andromeda, think positive. Don’t cry anymore,” Chiroman said as he patted Andromeda’s head and held her tight, while she cried on his broad shoulders.
The other three boys and Balius approached them. Balius bounced quickly and cried on Andromeda’s long skirt. “I am sorry, Princess. I am not able to save….Alexandria!”
“Balius! You are making her feel worse!” Nestor said.
“It’s not your fault that you can’t save her. You are just a small, little …horse,” Andromeda cleared her throat.
“Yes! You see! I am a horse, Phillammon! I am a horsy!” Balius laughed happily, “I am a horse, and no one said I’m a rock, I am the greatest horse of all, all time! And even if I am a human, or a knight, I still am the best of everything, right?”
Lord Chiroman sighed and banged his head to the imaginary wall. Joshua and Nestor burst out laughing, while Phillammon fell onto the ground and laughed until tears rolled from his eyes. “What’s wrong? What’s so wrong?” Balius yelled.
“I didn’t have anything in my stomach since yesterday’s lunch but I still could feel that I am gonna throw up soon,” Chiroman teased.
“Oh! Then you have to go and see the Fairy Nurse! She got this potion to prevent people from throwing up. Her potions are extremely powerful!” Balius said quickly.
Suddenly, Andromeda quickly stood up and stared back at her castle. “Something just got in that castle!” She uttered, “Some small creature!”
“It might be the nymphs. They might come back to the castle when they know Medusa is gone,” Phillammon said. “I’ll go to see Vastrinae. I can’t stand a minute without her.
“It is not Vastrinae or Vastrinan! It is like an evil goblin. It is like the Red Cap! I saw him once in the library books! That goblin just flew into my bedroom window!” Andromeda cried.
“Then I’ll check it out,” Chiroman said as he jumped from the ground through the window, while the princess and the others ran into the castle to the bedroom.
Chiroman landed on the windowpane and saw a little creature sweeping away everything on every table. The creature had long claws and beak of an eagle, with a blooded-red cap. Chiroman aimed his throwing stars at the cap as the blade stabbed on to the cap of the creature against the wall. The creature turned and stared at Lord Chiroman. Andromeda and the others hurried to the bedroom to see the burning eyes of the creature.
“Red Cap! You were gone from the watchtower and we don’t need you anymore! Go away!” Balius shouted angrily.
“Yes, Balius, Chiroman, and little Andromeda. I was in the watchtower and you nearly killed me when you were just sixteen, princess, and now I am back to take a revenge on your eighteenth birthday.”
“Red Cap, why are you here? You know you can’t touch the princess!” Balius hollered. “Go away now!”
Red Cap sharpened his long claws and flew towards the princess. With a rapid movement, Joshua took his staff and slammed it to the goblin’s face. The goblin groaned loudly and jumped out of the window with a twinkle of an eye. “What a loser! It is gone now!” Balius laughed.
“Thanks for hitting that creature for me, Joshua,” Andromeda said, “I see that games ain’t bad when you take the techniques out to use them!”
Joshua smiled shyly as Chiroman approached the human boys, “Well done, boys. However, before you really get into the battle against evil, you have to learn some techniques to defend and defeat the enemy. I’ll teach you the first basic steps, and then while learning, you would slowly obtain your own ways of fighting,” Chiroman said as he led the boys to the garden and began teaching the human boys some actions.
Sir Phillammon got on his horse and farewell the rest as it was his duty to protect the twins and the forest, as anything could be in danger at any time. Andromeda watched Chiroman with great admiration of how he was so talented in all these martial arts and everything. Chiroman was not only strong and talented in martial arts, but was also the most athletic knight and lord of all Arthepolis. In every Arthepolis Games Day, he was the one who wiped out all the first prizes, and participated in every competition held.
“I never knew that the spear would be that difficult to practice on! Just now, that sharp blade almost sliced off my ear!” Nestor laughed.
“Careful boys, they are not as hard, when you already know the basics. However, you have to keep it in mind. Find the weakness of the enemy and go for it. I ever killed this lion, and found that its weakness was the foot. Everyone thought it was the eye or the heart, but actually, the foot of this lion had a nerve, which connects to the entire body,” Chiroman said.
“Yeah, but no one could ever find a weakness in me!” Balius giggled and praised himself without any shame.
“I think I know your weakness, Balius. It is when people called you a rock, which you are actually one,” Joshua said slyly and winked his eye.
Balius gave a frown and bounced towards Andromeda with tears and complained to her that Joshua had bullied him. The princess was sitting under that same old tree when she felt drizzle from the tree. She opened her palms to catch the drizzle but it was not rain but something red. Andromeda saw a guard stabbed dead above the branches.
“My Lord Chiroman!” Andromeda murmured. “ The.. guard..”
“What’s wrong, girl? It seems like you have seen a ghost!” Chiroman teased as he walked over to Andromeda. He looked up and widened his eyes and quickly pulled Andromeda away from the tree. With just five seconds, the dead body and the branches of the tree collapsed onto the ground.
“Oh god! That was scary!” Nestor dropped his jaws.
“Bloody scary, but it was brilliant! Chiroman saved Andromeda just in time!” Joshua said. “Where did that guard came from?”
At that time, Andromeda’s face was as pale as a boiled chicken. Her body was like as hard as a rock, unable to move a nerve. “Death…Death has started….”
“It had started a long time back, when you were just a little baby!” said a cold, cold voice.
Chiroman, Andromeda and the earthly heroes saw an army of goblin marching behind the tree with Red Cap as their leader. More than fifty goblins were armed with weapons; all were ugly looking with nasty eyes. Red Cap laughed evilly and showed his sharp claws that were covered with blood.
“This is my revenge, young lady. That guard has a little boy who lived in the City of Miraples. I know that he was just like all of you. He was willing to die, to protect, because that was his duty. I am killing every one with that goal. I’m taking revenge on everyone who has the same determination as the four of you.”
