เรื่องนี้ก็งานทำคู่ส่งครูค่ะ (วิชาภาษาอังกฤษ) แต่เปลี่ยนแผน ตอนแรกกะจะแต่งเรื่องส่งไปๆมาๆไม่ไหวเลยเปลี่ยนเป็นแปลส่งแทน แต่ก็แต่งมาเรื่องหนึ่งแล้ว เสียดาย ไม่อยากแปลเป็นภาษาไทยเพราะเรื่องนี้เราคิดได้แต่โครงเรื่องคร่าวๆ ลึกลงไปยังไม่รู้เลย ^ ^" ดวงจันทร์พูดได้ แปลกพิลึก มีเพื่อนแนะว่าให้ทำเป็นว่ามีรูปร่างเป็นมนุษย์อย่างเทพของกรีก-โรมันสิ ก็นะ....ขี้เกียจ

The Gold Sun and the Silver Moon

"Mom, why is there always the sun in the day, and the moon in the night? Why aren't they together?" A little boy asked his mother while he was looking at the moon in the dark sky through the window.

"Do you want to listen to the story of the gold sun and the silver moon, my dear? But you have to lie here on your bed first"

"Ok! mom" The boy answered and climbed up to his bed. His mother covered him with a blanket and began the story...

Once upon a time when the night was covered with darkness without any light from the sky. But in the day, there was full of gold and silver light from the sun and  the moon. They had been shining together for a long time. The gold sun and the silver moon were brothers. The sun always took care and paid attention to the moon.

"Are you tried?" "Are you bored?" "Why don't you look well?" With a tender voice, the sun always asked the moon anxiously.

The moon could feel the concern of the sun. Admiration and adoration were what the moon usually had for his brother even sometimes he had some jealousy.

Most of human respected the sun. They worshiped the sun as a god. The moon could only be the shadow of the sun. Human asked for what they wanted from the sun, trusted that the sun could gave them everything they asked. But for some hopeless ones from the sun, they asked the moon.

“Please, the moon, please help me and I’ll give you everything even my blood and soul” The moon felt so guilty that he couldn’t do anything for them. Both, the sun and the moon couldn’t help anyone. Shining the light was the only thing they could do.

One night while the moon was resting, the mysterious voice came up to his mind.

“Do you want the power that could do everything?”

“Who, who are you?”

“Who am I? You don’t need to know.”

“You are a demon?”

“And… If I were the demon what would have you done with me?”

“Go away! We were not permitted to get in touch with the demon like you.”

“Why? I can give you what you want. You didn’t do anything wrong, did you?”

“But…”

“You want to help that pity human, aren’t you?”

“...”

“You want to be adored like your brother, aren’t you?”

“…”

“And now, this is your chance to be what you want. Why don’t you take it? You deserve it.”

After being persuaded for a while, the moon began to follow him.

“And… what should I do to get that power?”

“Well, It’s only a simply condition. Lend me your body and you’ll get the power.”

“For what?”

“It’s not necessary to know this.”

“But……. I don’t know what will you do with my body.”

“Don’t worry. I won’t do anything hurting your body. I’ll lend it for one night only.”

“….. I………. I accept your condition.”

“That’s good, my dear.” After that voice slowing down, The moon’s consciousness began fading away.

At the same time, the sun was sleeping, unaware of the coming danger. As the moon was coming and trying to kill him.

“My dear!!! Why are you doing this?” The sun woke up with pain.

“I’m not the moon. I’m the spirit merged of those who once have ever begged you for help, but you didn’t. Why don’t you help us despite our suffering?”

“I can’t do that. I have no ability to do what you have asked.”

“NO!!! You can! But you don’t help us!”

Suddenly the neighborhood was luminous with an unclear figure appearing.

“Who’s that!? Who are you?”

“I’m a representative from the heaven. You have violated our regulations, and you, the spirit, have no rights to be here either. Vanish now!!!” As soon as the spirit disappeared, the moon’s consciousness came back, he felt guilty, as his brother was hurt but he couldn’t do anything, despite knowing what’s happened.

“And for you, the moon, do you know your offenses?”

“Yes, I know and I am ready to get the penalties.”

“Well, for your guilty, having contracted with the demon and being jealous in your brother that caused this unfortunate situation happened, you have to be left alone in the darkness and your light will be confiscated.”

“I accept all penalties.”

“Wait! Please, don’t sanction him like this. This is the first time of his guilty and he doesn’t know what would have happened.”

“No, my dear brother.  I feel so guilty for being jealous you, hurting you. I can’t forgive myself. This punishment is too light for what I’ve done to you.”

“But…”

“No ‘but’, your little brother has accepted the sentence, you don’t have to help him”

“Let me be in the night with him.”

“No, It’s his guilty not yours”

“But he is my brother.”

“And he is the one who is wrong.”

“Brother, don’t say anymore. Let me be punished alone.”

“…”

“Don’t too worry. I can look after myself. Take care of yourself, my beloved brother, farewell.” With tender smile, the moon departed away from him.

Since there the moon have to be alone in the darkness, thinking of his brother. The sun himself missed the moon as well so he thought of the way that he could take good care of the moon and still did his duty in the day. As soon as he got the idea, with anxiety, he transmitted his light to the moon so everyone could see the moon and broke some parts of himself into little pieces accompanying the moon. Afterward the moon had a pale light shining the world at night with the stars, which are the parts of the sun. Apart from that the sun had asked the representative from the heaven for being with the moon at least once a month. So the night that the sun met the moon was no moonlight. We call it
‘a waning moon night’.

“And this is the end of this story. Oh! My dear, You’ve already slept.“  The mother looked at her son tenderly and gave him a kiss. Then she slowly lied down beside her son, in the midst of the light from the moon shining through the window.
