I believe that a good marriage is when a husband and wife "compliment" each other's life...
It's not a very good marriage when a husband and wife "complicate" each other's life.
I understand how you feel, you are the only one in your family in America, i'm the same way. My husband's entire family are here from Grandma, down to great grandchildren. My husband is the first generation in the family that are born and raised in the US.
From what I read, i think your husband truly cares about you. But it's hard for him to act, since he is in the middle of everything. Before you decided to move back to Thailand, you should speak to your husband and insists on moving out/moving away from the influence of his family. Just the two of you. I agree that the problems that you are experiencing are from the outsiders. So you should really talk to your husband and see if he would consider moving out. (In another word, your hubby needs to cut the ambilical cord!)
House shores: in my family, we help each other. My husband is good at washing dishes and doing laundry, so that's what he would do. I'm good at sweeping and ironing clothes, that's what I do. I normally cook, but if my husband sees that i don't feel like cooking, we'll go out to eat, he doesn't demand for me to cook for him. Every household is different, I have no comment on that.
Good luck with everything... I don't think you are a selfish woman na kaaaa
