มีข้อมูลเพิ่มเติมมาฝากผู้ใฝ่รู้ ดังนี้.....
การต่อสู้แบบไม่มีทางหนีของสุนัข - Cornered beats will still fight. - Beats at bay will fight back.
หมายเหตุ... "get someone cornered (จนมุม)" = put someone in a situation from which he cannot escape. Ex: I tried to avoid him, but he finally got me cornered, and I had to answer his questions.
"at bay (จนตรอก)" = driven, like a hunted animal, into a position where flight is no longer possible and it is necessary to fight one's attackers. Ex: The enemy is at bay now; he will have to fight.
"back to (against) the wall (หลังพิงฝาผนัง)= in a situation where further retreat is impossible. Ex: Their backs are to the wall; if they don't find another creditor, they'll go bankrupt. (Also: have one's back .....)
"drive someone to the wall (ต้อนคนจนติดฝาผนัง หมดทางไป)" = force someone into a desperate situation. Ex: There was no way out but to agree. They were driven to the wall.
