Why do most Serbian last names end in -vic? Is there a special reason for this?
Serbian surnames usually (not always ) have a suffix : -ić in Latin and –ић in Cyrillic. The endings of the surnames usually indicate to mean “son of”, as they use in Scotland “Mac” .

Why do Greek surnames almost always end with an 'S'?
Asimenia said it I'll just make it a bit more specific. Greek is a gender specific language. All nouns/adjectives belong to one of three (masculine, feminine and neutral) gender. The gender is indicated by the article (ο, η, το; respectively) and by the suffix of the noun/adjective. So the masculine suffixes (with several exceptions) end in -ς feminine in -α -η -ου etc.
Now in Greece when you have Mr Papas and Mrs Papa, everybody knows that they are related. In other countries though (especially in US) that was a problem since US officials could not understand that it is the same name in the masculine and feminine form, so the Greek immigrants kept only the male version of the last name. So you've got Mrs Helen Papas which in Greek sounds rather funny.
