After reading your article about Martin Luther, I had to respond, itching to make my point and share some facts with you and what the majority of people do not know or acknowledge.
Now, I want to make it clear that my intention is not to instigate or start a fight. I want to state the facts that I know and want to make it known, being fair to Martin Luther and to our Roman Catholic Church.
Bashing the Roman Catholic Church has always been in fashion. We, Roman Catholics, a long time ago have stopped denying the good, bad and ugly within our church. We learned from our mistakes, paid the price and moved on to better ourselves and fellow men. But every time we turn around we hear sound bytes how bad we are.
Sorry for my rambling
.
I have written about Martin Luther in "Sayantour." It is chockfull of facts (good, bad and ugly on the Roman Catholic Church and Martin Luther, his friends and his work). It is a small epic, guaranteed to open your eyes. Hopefully, one of these days it will be published.
The following is from www. Wikipedia.org. that I have used extensively when I wrote about Martin Luther. I also used Catholic Encyclopedia on line: http://www.newadvent.org/cathen/09438b.htm

Martin Luther (November 10, 1483 February 18, 1546) was a German monk,[1] priest, professor, theologian, and church reformer. His teachings inspired the Reformation and deeply influenced the doctrines and culture of the Lutheran and Protestant traditions, as well as the course of Western civilization. Luther's hymns, including his best-known "A Mighty Fortress is Our God", inspired the development of congregational singing within Christianity.[2] His marriage on June 13, 1525, to Katharina von Bora reintroduced the practice of clerical marriage within many Christian traditions.[3] Martin Luther's translation of the Bible furthered the development of a standard version of the German language and added several principles to the art of translation.[4] His translation significantly influenced the English King James Version of the Bible.[5] Due to the recently developed printing press, his writings were widely read, influencing many subsequent Protestant Reformers and thinkers, giving rise to diversifying Protestant traditions in Europe and elsewhere.[6] Today, nearly seventy million Christians belong to Lutheran churches worldwide,[7] with some four hundred million Protestant Christians[8] tracing their history back to Luther's reforming work. Luther is also known for his writings late in his life about the Jews, in which he proposed that their homes be destroyed, synagogues and schools burned, money confiscated, and rights and liberties curtailed.[9] These views were given "full publicity"[10] by the Nazis in Germany in 193345.[11] Katharina (Katherine) von Bora (January 29, 1499 - December 20, 1552) was a German Catholic nun who was an early convert to Protestantism. She later became the wife of Martin Luther, the leader of the Protestant Reformation, who often fondly called her "my Lord Katie." Very little information is available on her outside of the writings of Luther himself and some of his contemporaries. Despite this, Katharina is often considered one of the most important women of the Reformation because of her role in helping to define Protestant family life and setting the tone for clergy marriages.
